Adbin — ad blocker for Safari
2026-09-03
Installing Adbin blocks nothing on its own. It starts working once you turn it on in Safari.
Why three? Safari allows at most 150,000 rules per content blocker. Adbin ships more than that, so the rules are split three ways. They are one set, not three separate products — all three must be on to block everything.
YouTube serves ads and video from the same servers, the same way. Filtering only the ads can put an account at risk, so Adbin does not touch YouTube ads. What it does offer is Picture-in-Picture unlocked — video keeps playing after you leave Safari.
It blocks ads that appear inside other apps, outside Safari, by checking your device's DNS lookups against a blocklist. It is optional and off by default.
iOS models this as a VPN configuration, so it asks for permission once. There is no remote VPN server; the tunnel terminates on your device. See the privacy policy for details.
The more lists you enable, the more rules Safari loads on every page. The Weight card on the app's first screen shows the current size, and Recommended keeps the ads you would actually notice while using far less.
iOS cannot run a VPN and iCloud Private Relay at the same time. Turn Network Protection off and Private Relay comes back.
Add it to your allowlist and Adbin will leave that site alone. Settings → Rules → Allowlist.
If none of the above helps, email us. Including your device, iOS version and the address of the page that misbehaved makes this much faster to sort out.
